The problem of ecological mobility in Africa and the contribution of innovative green technologies: issues, challenges and opportunities. This is the theme of the African Exhibition on Ecological Mobility and Innovative Green Technologies (SAM-E), which opens on 30 May 2024 in Abidjan, the economic capital of Ivory Coast.
The African Exhibition on Ecological Mobility and Innovative Green Technologies (SAM-E) is being held from 30 May to 1 June 2024 in Ivory Coast. According to researcher Meite Youssouf from the Université Félix Houphouët-Boigny, which is organising the event, at least 20,000 people from all over the continent are expected to attend the Abidjan Exhibition Centre.
They include automotive professionals, business leaders in the digital and financial sectors, as well as representatives of ministries and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) campaigning for environmentally-friendly transport that is more accessible to all social classes. Over the three days, participants will discuss advances in electromobility through the sharing of experience and innovative solutions.
They will also discuss the theme of “the problem of ecological mobility in Africa and the contribution of innovative green technologies: issues, challenges and opportunities”. According to the organisers, SAM-E is above all “a platform to stimulate the adoption of a low-carbon energy mix and renewable energies, creating unique opportunities to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and promote economic development in urban travel”.

Ivory Coast should take advantage of this meeting to identify the young talents who stand out in the fields of green mobility and technology. Morocco and Kenya, which have made great strides in electromobility and decarbonising their transport systems, have quite rightly been designated countries of honour for SAM-E 2024. It will also be an opportunity for organisations such as Auto24, which has equipped this West African country with a charging station for electric vehicles, to forge new partnerships focused on sustainability.
