In Gabon, the municipality of Port-Gentil has new equipment to improve the management of its household waste. The local authorities have recently received 120 waste bins dedicated to waste collection in the council. The new equipment was supplied by the council of Thouars in France, as part of a 60-year partnership agreement.
The new bins will be placed at strategic points in Port-Gentil. The equipment will also improve the operational efficiency of GPS Mandji, the company in charge of waste management in this municipality of over 140,000 inhabitants.
The acquisition of refuse trucks
In Port-Gentil, the sanitation equipment will also help preserve the environment. The municipality of Thouars also plans to provide Port-Gentil with four additional refuse trucks for the collection and transport of waste. In March 2020, the Gabonese municipality received the first two vehicles to speed up these various operations.
