Africa50 is a development finance platform launched by the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group and African states. Africa50 uses equity investments to catalyze public and private sector capital, supporting mainly energy and transport projects, but also water, sanitation and information technology. In recent years, the platform has participated in the development of several renewable energy projects in Africa, including the Benban solar photovoltaic complex in the governorate of Aswan in Egypt and the Sahofika hydroelectric project in Madagascar.
