NIGERIA: Lumos and MTN launch Lumos Prime and Lumos Eco, two solar solutions©DR

Lumos Nigeria is diversifying its offers. The subsidiary of Lumos Global, a Dutch off-grid solar energy company, and its new partner MTN Nigeria have just launched two solar energy solutions on the market that would be more accessible. These are "Lumos Prime" and "Lumos Eco".

These solutions are called “Lumos Prime” and “Lumos Eco”, which are designed to “reduce electricity costs by up to 70% while running household appliances”. This equation can now be solved by all Lumos Nigeria customers. The subsidiary of Lumos Global, a Dutch off-grid solar energy company, in collaboration with the cell phone operator MTN (Nigeria), recently launched two solar energy solutions, “Lumos Prime” and “Lumos Eco”, which would be more accessible. Lumos Nigeria indicates that the new products will replace its current solar home system “as more technologically advanced variants that allow for longer use”. The solar systems are aimed at medium sized households and small businesses in Nigeria.

More reliable and affordable access to electricity?

According to Lumos Nigeria, “Lumos Prime” and “Lumos Eco” are more efficient, accessible and affordable energy solutions. The “Lumos Prime” product in this case consists of two solar panels with a combined capacity of 160 W and a 330 Wh battery. The solar home system has been designed for customers who wish to have permanent and more sustainable electricity for recharging electronic devices (CCTV cameras, radios, sewing machines, TVs, laptops, etc.).

The “Lumos Eco” solution consists of a solar panel with a capacity of 80 W and a 200 Wh battery. The solar home system is intended for consumers who have basic energy needs to operate devices such as fans, small TVs, etc.).
