Wangara Green Ventures, an impact investment fund capitalized by the World Bank through the Ghana Climate Venture Facility (GCVF), has just given a boost to the development of Cleanearth Scientific’s work. It is a life sciences and engineering company operating in West Africa. It offers its industrial and manufacturing customers analytical solutions for the quality control of their products, water and the environment. It also carries out projects for the treatment and optimization of water and wastewater systems.

The company, Cleanearth Scientific, has received $500,000 (over 2.8 million Ghanaian cedis) from Wangara Green Ventures on April 20, 2020. This financing will mainly be used by the company to carry out projects for the treatment and optimization of Ghana’s drinking water and wastewater systems. Most of the country’s lakes and lagoons are heavily polluted due to the lack of effective wastewater treatment. In addition, several drinking water supply systems (DWS) are not adapted to the needs of the population.

The amount released by Wangara Green Ventures will also enable Cleanearth Scientific to extend its services to other industrial clients in Ghana, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria and Liberia. “Our partnership with Wangara Green Ventures and this investment allows us to take bold steps for the future to meet our growth aspirations,” said Ekow Archer, CEO of Cleanearth Scientific.
