A training camp on agroecology and green entrepreneurship will be held in Tori Bossito in Benin from February 2 to 9, 2020. The event, which is in its fourth edition, is organized to promote the empowerment of young farmers in Africa. A total of 50 participants from ten African countries will be selected to take part in this training session whose aim is to impart the basic notions of green entrepreneurship and to generate a renewed interest in agro-ecology. The participants are project leaders and entrepreneurs, students, professionals from the agricultural sector…

Throughout the training, they will address the following topics:

– Sustainable agriculture: natural management of soil fertilization and pests, permaculture, fish farming, beekeeping…

– Craft manufacturing: food processing, manufacture of improved fireplaces, dry toilets, etc.

– Business: strategy, sales and marketing, communication, legal…

– Personal development: leadership, collaborative games, inner ecology…

The organisers aim to use the course to boost income-generating green businesses carried by young Africans and to support those with maturing project ideas. To benefit from this training, each participant will have to pay 25,000 FCA, i.e. around 38 euros (training fees, accommodation and food).

For this fourth edition, the Agro Boot Camp has planned two innovations, namely the Agro Boot Awards and the Green Entrepreneurs’ Evening during which the three best projects will be awarded prizes. The Agro Boot Camp is an initiative of a collective of associations and companies whose common vision is to encourage the emergence of new socio-economic models that are both comprehensive and sustainable in Africa.
