Morocco will host in the northern city of Tangier the International Recycling and Waste Management Exhibition named “RWM Expo” to concretize its commitment to the fight against waste pollution. The event, which takes place from 22 to 25 June 2022, will promote African and international cooperation in this sector.

The RWM Expo is co-organized by the newspaper Energy and Mines Mag, specialized in sustainable development, the Moroccan Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, the Regional Investment Center of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima and Cities and United Local Governments of Africa (UCLG Africa). According to the organizers of the event, it will bring together Moroccan, African and European operators and experts in waste management to discuss the decarbonisation of industry, recycling, green energy and the circular economy.

The International Recycling and Waste Management Exhibition comes at a time when Morocco produces six million tons of waste, an average of about 250 kg per capita per year. However, the country relies on various initiatives undertaken by the government and its private partners such as Averda, Suez and Managem, companies involved in sanitation and pollution control.
